Confidentiality
When faced with varying challenges in life, we can be exposed to feelings such as anxiety, worry and overwhelm. Though we may have the support and encouragement of our family and friends, there are times when counselling may help.
Therapy provides an opportunity to view and understand one’s experience and can help to assist an individual arrive at suitable solutions. Counselling is an experiential process that is designed to accompany, not direct, individual’s toward a life of thriving rather than just surviving.
Successful counselling depends on safety, trust and confidentiality. As a member of a professional counselling body, I abide by a strict code of ethics and take the need for your confidentiality and safety seriously. Confidentiality is assured, the only exception being where there may be a threat to the safety of others or to oneself. If you have any concerns regarding this please feel free to discuss this with me.
Sessions are negotiated with you, and together we decide how counselling might be of benefit to you. I believe it is a privilege to walk beside you during this time. Making the decision to seek counselling takes courage.
Call me for an initial discussion to help determine whether I am the right counsellor for you.
